The Elbert “Al” Butler Scholarship is presented annually to one player each from the men’s and women’s basketball teams.

Elbert J. “Al” Butler was an American basketball player. Born in Rochester, New York, he played collegiately for Niagara University. He was selected by the Boston Celtics in the 2nd round (17th pick overall) of the 1961 NBA draft. He played for the Celtics (1961), New York Knicks (1962–64) and Baltimore Bullets (1964–65) in the NBA for 234 games. After he retired from the NBA, he worked at Monroe Community College for 27 years in the counseling center and as an assistant basketball coach.
