Sarah Jones Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Witty, charming, larger than life. Intelligent, generous, a consummate professional. Champion of the underdog, student of improv, and lover of animals, especially manatees. A caring daughter, sister, and colleague. Sarah Lynn Jones left those she loved much too soon. This scholarship honors her memory by supporting MCC students who embody Sarah’s spirit, share her thirst for knowledge, and who need an extra boost toward crossing the finish line to their MCC degree.

ELIGIBILITY

1.) Full or part-time students.
2.) Demonstrated financial need.
3.) Minimum MCC GPA of 2.5.
4.) Preference for students who volunteer regularly with an organization and are active in their community. Applicants will write a brief essay explaining their work in the community and how they try to make a difference.
5.) The donor desires that special considerations be given to: a) students who have overcome obstacles such as socioeconomic or educational disadvantage; b) first generation in their family to attend college; or c) members of groups historically underrepresented in higher education.
