Mary Eliza Mahoney Nursing Scholarship (Corning Inc. ORESU Nursing Education Scholarship)

The Corning Inc. ORESU Nursing Education Scholarship is a renewable, merit-based award sponsored by Corning’s Office of Racial Equality and Social Unity (ORESU). The scholarship covers tuition (fall and spring semesters), fees, and textbooks/supplies in the SUNY Monroe Community College (SUNY MCC) Nursing AAS program, either through completion of the Nursing AAS degree or up to four semesters in the Nursing AAS program, whichever comes first. It is open to incoming and returning nursing students. Two (2) Corning, Inc. ORESU Nursing Education Scholarships are offered to students in SUNY MCC’s Nursing AAS programs specifically, to high-performing students who are from racial and ethnic populations that are underrepresented in health-related sciences. Underrepresented minorities in health-related sciences are defined by the National Institutes of Health as Blacks or African Americans, Hispanics or Latinos, American Indians or Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians and other Pacific Islanders.

ELIGIBILITY

1.) Full-time students enrolled in the Nursing AAS program.
2.) Is from an underrepresented minority group as defined above.
3.) Minimum GPA of 2.75 and 3.0 for continued eligibility in year-two.
4.) Must maintain good academic standing.
