Robert Tanner Freeman Dental Hygiene Scholarship (Corning Inc. ORESU Dental Hygiene Education Scholarship)

The Corning Inc. ORESU Nursing Scholarship is a renewable, merit-based award sponsored by Corning’s Office of Racial Equality and Social Unity (ORESU). The scholarship covers tuition (fall and spring semesters), fees, and textbooks/supplies in the SUNY Monroe Community College (SUNY MCC) Dental Hygiene AAS program, either through completion of the Dental Hygiene AAS degree or up to four semesters in the Dental Hygiene AAS program, whichever comes first. It is open to incoming Dental Hygiene students. Two (2) Corning, Inc. ORESU Dental Hygiene Scholarships are offered annually to students in MCC’s Dental Hygiene AAS program specifically, to high-performing students who are from economically and socially disadvantaged backgrounds with demonstrated financial need.

ELIGIBILITY

1.) Full-time students enrolled in MCC’s Dental Hygiene AAS program.
2.) Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
3.) Has submitted a FAFSA for the current academic year.
4.) Willing to enter into Service Obligation Scholarship Agreement with Corning Incorporated that states,_ “within three (3) months of successful completion of MCC’s Dental Hygiene Program, Scholar agrees to diligently seek and accept full-time employment and to begin providing full-time dental hygiene services in a dental provider’s office in Monroe County for a period of two (2) years, or to provide part-time dental hygiene services for a period of four(4) years.”_
5.) Maintains a 3.0 GPA at MCC, as evidenced by a school transcript or other official College document. This document should reflect the overall average as of the end of each semester.
